You've finally booked that family photo shoot. You're pumped. The kids are excited! You're imagining all the various places in your house you're going to put your photos. Then it dawns on you.... what are you going to wear!?!
1) First things first. Dress Mom
Getting Mom to pick out an outfit that she feels really good in, will make the whole session go smoothly. Then, match the family's outfits to Mom's!
2) Wear complimentary colours
Earth tones (greens + browns), water tones (blues + purples) or neutrals with a pop of colour (black/denim/white/grey + something colourful) are great places to start.
3) Stick to small prints
Small prints, patterns and stripes are great. Hawaiian shirts not so much. Also, I would recommend avoiding shirts with big logos.
4) Contrast your wardrobe and your environment
This one can be a bit trickier to figure out on your own, but if possible, wear colours that contrast your environment. If you're going to a park with lots of greenery, opt for going with either bright colours or neutrals. Sticking to a bright or neutral colour scheme will make standout from the background.
As always, talking to your photographer about your wardrobe is definitely a good idea if you have questions or concerns.
